It Happened to Nancy

It is now Nancy's sixteenth birthday and she keeps feeling really sick for about two months she has been feeling very ill but hasn't said anything to her mother. After Nancy can't take the pain anymore she finally tells her mom and her mom takes her to the hospital and the doctor and nurses run tests to see what is causing her to feel like this. The doctor finally comes in and tells Nancy and her mother that Nancy is infected with the HIV-virus. Nancy is of course scared she doesn't want to die but then she is also scared about spreading it to other people. Nancy's friend El is throwing a birthday party for Nancy's sweet sixteen and invites everybody from school to come, Nancy though is just excited about Lew coming because he and her now are more than just friends. After the party everyone went to the movies and while watching the movie Nancy peed herself and she didn't want anyone to know so she got up quick and ran out and got a cab to take her home. Nancy couldn't face going back to school after have doing this so she moved to Arizona for a little to love with her dad. While living there Nancy keeps feeling herself get worse then better but everyday is a new feeling. Nancy sees that she is bleeding from her butt so she immediately calls her doctor and he tells her to come in that morning. While at the appointment Nancy is told that her having HIV has caused her to get a rectal ulcer and that the HIV-virus progressed so quickly that she now has AIDS. After a couple months in Arizona Nancy wants to move back with her mom and friends because she misses them so much. But then she decides not to because it was just to embarrassing so her mom flies to Arizona and calls Nancy's Aunt Thelma to see if Nancy can live there for a little while. I wonder how long it takes before Nancy dies because it has only taken barley a year for the HIV-virus to turn into AIDS and because she moving so fast.

The book has not said anything else about Nancy looking through the year books. But Nancy does eventually see Collin again! He is walking through the park holding hands with a thirteen year old girl named Margie. When Nancy sees the two walking together she wants to run over and hit Collin a couple of times and grab Margie and carry her to safety. But she does not she just keeps on her way. It is also Nancy's birthday and everyone is acting like they forgot and do not care because Nancy's mom wants to have her a surprise birthday party. Nancy's old childhood friend Lew even came which made her very excited because she trusted him and talked to him about anything. Lew made Nancy feel happy again and he also made her feel safe again. But the next day at school Nancy seen Margie again, and she looked depressed and did not look or act like herself. Margie was very quiet and did not talk to anyone. Nancy had figured that Collin had done the same thing to Margie as he did to her. This is all i have read so far, but i wonder if Collin did rape Margie? And how he started talking to her and hanging out with her like he started hanging out with Nancy because he seen Nancy haaving a panic attack so he took her in a hall and calmed her done so i wonder if Collin did something like this to Margie?!

In my last blog i left off at saying that Collin had raped Nancy. Well the next day after it happens Nancy does not feel like going to school because she thinks everyone will know what happened and say stuff about her behind her back. So Nancy calls El's mom and asks to be excused from school, El's mom accepts. Nancy has been up all night because she just can not sleep because of what happened. It becomes four thirty in the afternoon and Nancy's mom has arrived home. Nancy immediately tells her mom what has happend and her mom starts comforting her and telling Nancy that it is not her fault. The next morning Nancy's mom calls El's mom and tells her to excuse Nancy from school for a couple of days because they are leaving for a while. Nancy and her mom then pack up and start driving but first they stop at Nancy's moms work so her mom can tell her boss that she is leaving for a couple of days. Nancy and her mom keep driving until they end up at some beat down shack on an beach. Nancy goes into the bathroom of the shack and sees a mouse and her and the mouse are at first startled then just kinda stare at each other, Nancy likes the little mouse because right now it seems like her only friend. Nancy and her mom start going out and doing things together to try to make Nancy feel better but the day has come to finally go back home and Nancy is scared to go back into her home, but she does it. Nancy keeps feeling like its her fault that she got raped that she gave Collin the wrong impression. So after feeling this way for quite a while Nancy decides to try and call Collin, she calls his college and the college says that they have no record of a Collin Eagle being enlisted or on the Dean's list. So finally Nancy's mom calls the police and they say that they are going to get every yearbook from every high school for Nancy to look through so that they can try and find this Collin guy!?
So far i can not believe any of this is happening because like i said what i read in the begining was not even compared to what i am reading now. I can not wait to see what happens next!

It Happened to Nancy

In my last blog i stated that i thought Collin was a nice guy but after reading on i came to find that he was a ignorant jerk. I say this because after all the time that Collin and Nancy were hanging out and doing fun things, Collin betrayed her. On one particular night Nancy was supposed to go stay the night at her friend El's house, but Collin wanted to come over instead so Nancy told Collin that he could and Nancy then called her friend El's mom and came up with the excuse that she had really bad cramps and didnt really want to come over. Nancy was so excited that Collin was coming over she wanted her house to be clean so Collin didn't think anything bad of her and she set the table nicely she said it felt like the two were playing house. Well after Collin arrived there he and Nancy talked, ate dinner, and carried on a while. The two were drinking wine coolers and Nancy seen Collin mix one of the drinks with something else but she didn't know. Next thing Nancy knows she is being carried into her mothers room and being laid down on to her mothers bed. Nancy screamed "No" over and over but Collin wouldn't listen to her. After Collin was done raping Nancy he just got up and left, never said bye, i love you or anything, not one single word. Nancy said her whole body hurt and she felt disgusting and kept worrying because she thought she had done a mortal sin she felt as though her soul had died.
So far since I have read this i keep wondering what is going to happen next in the book. I also keep thinking why would Collin do this he was really caring, sweet, and thoughtful earlier in the book so why change now?
